Dr Marta Homs Riera
Anaesthesiology, MD (Barcelona, Spain)Dr Homs Riera is a renowned specialist in Anaesthesiology, Resuscitation, and Pain Management, with over 10 years of professional experience and extensive training in various areas of her specialty. She has taken the In Training Assessment and the Part I EDA exam of the European Society of Anaesthesiology. In addition, she has completed more than 40 sub-specialisation and continuing education courses in pain management. Currently, she also holds a Professional Master’s degree in Pain Medicine from the Spanish Pain Society (SED), endorsed by the European University Miguel de Cervantes.
All of this has made her an expert in regenerative medicine, epidural, regional, and peripheral nerve blocks, joint blocks, radiofrequency treatment, neuropathic pain management, regional sympathetic blocks, muscle and trigger point blocks, as well as botulinum toxin treatments.
Throughout her career, she has combined her clinical practice with a significant teaching role, currently serving as an adjunct professor of the Master’s in Nursing in Anaesthesia, Resuscitation, and Pain Management at the School of Nursing at San Juan de Dios, affiliated with the University of Barcelona. She also teaches in training courses for residents at the Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital. Additionally, she is deeply involved in research and dissemination, authoring and co-authoring numerous scientific articles and frequently speaking at specialty conferences. At present, she works as an adjunct anaesthesiologist and partner member of the Department of Anaesthesiology, Resuscitation, and Pain Management (DARYD) – Pain Management Unit at Dexeus, in the Dexeus University Hospital – QuironSalud Group in Barcelona.
